CleanTouch
The CleanTouch project introduces Lotus foil—an antimicrobial film for touchscreens that, thanks to photoactive zinc, effectively protects users from the transmission of bacteria and viruses in public spaces.
The CleanTouch project introduces Lotus foil, an innovative product that protects touchscreen users from the transmission of bacteria and viruses. Lotus foil contains the active ingredient zinc phthalocyanine, which is activated by light to effectively destroy viruses and bacteria, significantly reducing the risk of infection when using public touch devices. To ensure effectiveness in darkness, the foil includes a small amount of biocidal agent, guaranteeing antimicrobial protection regardless of lighting conditions. Lotus is produced by applying a photoactive coating to a PE substrate using flexographic printing. After application, the coating is dried and cured for optimal quality. The Lotus foil technology is patented and, unlike competing products, is environmentally friendly and sustainable as it contains no heavy metals.
Lotus foil provides a modern and hygienic solution for everyday use in self-service kiosks across transportation, retail, fast food, and other public spaces where contact with touchscreens is unavoidable. Designed to withstand regular wear, Lotus foil offers protection even with frequent use. Its transparency and high durability make it suitable for a wide range of devices, from self-service kiosks to mobile phones, ensuring compatibility with different types of touchscreens. Lotus foil not only enhances public hygiene but also extends the lifespan of the displays it protects, making it a sustainable choice across various industries.
Lotus foil has been tested not only in laboratory settings but also in real-world conditions. Through partnerships with retail and other sectors, the product was trialed under full operational conditions, passing the most rigorous tests. Lotus foil has been tested in stores like Globus, Albert, Billa, and Marks & Spencer; in DM drugstores; by Czech Post; and in KFC fast food outlets.
